Chennai, Oct 3 (NationPress) The production team behind director Rishab Shetty's recently released pan-India film 'Kantara: Chapter 1' made a heartfelt appeal to viewers and fans on Friday, urging them to refrain from supporting piracy. They emphasized that piracy not only damages the film itself but also undermines the aspirations and hard work of thousands who dedicated their efforts to create it.

In a message shared across their social media platforms, Hombale Films, the production company responsible for the film, stated, "Dear Kantara family and cinema enthusiasts, from the outset, Kantara has belonged to you as much as to us. Your affection and support have propelled this journey forward. We earnestly request you to avoid engaging in piracy, as it detracts from the film and the dreams of countless individuals who have worked tirelessly to bring it to fruition."

The filmmakers also requested that audiences refrain from recording or sharing videos from theaters, even if done with good intentions.

"We kindly ask fans not to record or distribute videos from theaters, even when intended positively, as it diminishes the magic of cinema. Kantara: Chapter 1 was designed for the big screen so that you can experience every sound, every visual, and every emotion as intended. Let’s work together to preserve this journey and ensure Kantara remains an unforgettable theater experience," the creators added.

The film has garnered significant acclaim since its release, with various personalities praising it. Notable Indian cricketer Varun Chakravarthy and acclaimed director Sandeep Reddy Vanga have both expressed their admiration for the film.

Varun Chakravarthy took to social media to share, "#Kantara is one of the finest representations of the rich and intricate cultures of our Indian landscape from every perspective! Absolutely fantastic and mind-blowing! @shetty_rishab"

Similarly, Sandeep Reddy Vanga, known for directing the hit film 'Animal', also commended the Kannada film.

Written and directed by Rishab Shetty and produced by Vijay Kiragandur, this film serves as the highly anticipated prequel to the 2022 blockbuster 'Kantara'. It features Rishab Shetty, Rukmini Vasanth, and Jayaram in pivotal roles. Filming for the upcoming action movie commenced in November 2023, with the first look and teaser unveiled on November 27.

'Kantara: Chapter 1', a prequel to the blockbuster, is set against the backdrop of the Kadamba dynasty of Banavasi. It has been both written and directed by Rishab Shetty and produced by Vijay Kiragandur under the banner of Hombale Films.
