Mumbai, March 28 (NationPress) Actress-model Malaika Arora has shared her insights regarding the changing landscape of the music industry.

She discussed the reasons behind the transient nature of many contemporary songs, emphasizing the significant impact of social media on the current music environment. While some tracks achieve great success and even eclipse the popularity of their associated films, many modern songs are crafted with the intention of going viral, particularly on platforms like Instagram Reels. Referring to this phenomenon as a 'trend', the actress noted that amidst this evolution, there are still certain songs that shine due to their inherent appeal — irrespective of their contribution to a film’s success.

Malaika expressed to IANS, “I think that while numerous songs achieve tremendous popularity and even outshine the films they belong to, a lot of contemporary tracks are created with social media in mind. The aim is on producing songs that will go viral, especially via platforms like Instagram reels. It’s a trend. Nevertheless, I believe there are still songs that gain significant popularity, whether they enhance the film or not. It’s a mixed bag, yet sometimes the song itself holds more importance than the movie.”

The ‘Chaiyya Chaiyya’ star also addressed the common belief that reality shows are heavily scripted. She acknowledged that while some segments are indeed scripted, they are not entirely pre-written. Malaika clarified that as someone actively participating in such shows, she and others have the latitude to influence how events unfold, often making minor adjustments to feel more comfortable on set.

However, she emphasized that ultimately, the goal is always to preserve authenticity and present a version that resonates with the audience.

Regarding her new reality show, ‘Hip Hop Season 2’, Malaika stated, “When they reached out to me for this show, I was thrilled because I felt this was something completely new for me. It’s a different platform, and I knew I would gain a lot of knowledge. There are various dance styles, some of which are unfamiliar to me.”

Hip Hop India is back with its exhilarating second season. New episodes are released every Friday on Amazon Prime Video.
