Mumbai, Dec 5 (NationPress) Renowned actor Manoj Pahwa shared insights into the amusing and candid relationship he has with his wife, the talented actor-director-writer Seema Pahwa. He humorously noted that she never holds back when it comes to reprimanding him, and he teases her by claiming that all her characters appear as if they are chewing “khaini”.

Discussing his parenting style, Manoj emphasized that he was never the type to impose unrealistic academic pressures on his children. He remarked, “When my kids were younger, I told them my strict guideline was that 70 percent of their work should come from others. Just for their sake, because if they did poorly in class, it would be embarrassing for them—not for me. I just wanted them to manage to score 33 percent.”

He expressed that he was indifferent to whether they became successful as long as they pursued what they loved. “I don’t care if you don’t achieve anything. Just enjoy life. Whatever you choose to do, do it only if it brings you joy. If you enjoy it, you’ll excel. If you force it, you’ll ruin it,” he advised.

Manoj chuckled as he described how Seema has always been the stricter figure both at home and in their professional lives. “My relationship with my wife involves her scolding me often. Since she is my senior as an actor, director, and writer, she frequently chastises me with questions like, ‘What have you done? What were you thinking?’ I may appear careless, but I swear I was sincere!”

He humorously added, “I’ve watched her films. I tell her… The characters you create seem like they’re all chewing khaini. I get scolded a lot!”

Manoj highlighted that there was never any pressure with their children. He is set to appear in Netflix’s “Single Papa”, and he remarked, “Let them pursue whatever they wish. Keep an eye on them, as they might need help. During their teenage years, they naturally wish to party.”

He recounted a fun memory of stepping into the role of a bartender for a party at home. “I said, ‘I’ll host it. Let’s have it on the roof.’ Everyone enjoyed it, and I remember creating an icebox and setting up a table on the roof. I took on the bartender role, and they stayed until 2 AM. I encouraged them to stay at home and have fun.”
