Patna, Dec 5 (NationPress) Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar has reiterated his administration's pledge to create 1 crore jobs and employment prospects within the next five years.
In a comprehensive message shared on social media, the Chief Minister detailed the government’s strategic plan aimed at empowering youth, enhancing skill development, and broadening employment opportunities within the state.
Kumar indicated, “Our objective is to offer jobs and employment to 1 crore youth in the upcoming five years (2025-30). This goal necessitates training a significant number of young individuals in skill development and providing them with quality higher and technical education. Furthermore, rigorous monitoring is essential to realize this ambition.”
To facilitate this ambitious initiative, the state government has opted to establish three new departments: the Department of Youth, Employment and Skill Development, the Department of Higher Education, and the Department of Civil Aviation.
According to Nitish Kumar, the newly formed Department of Youth, Employment and Skill Development will serve as the primary catalyst for generating extensive job opportunities through various schemes over the next five years.
Clarifying the necessity of an independent Higher Education Department, the Chief Minister remarked, “It will enhance the quality of higher education, foster research and innovation, bolster technical and vocational education, and ensure all youth receive quality vocational training.”
Regarding the state's evolving aviation infrastructure, Kumar added, “Numerous new airports are under construction in the state, with many more planned, both large and small, as part of the UDAN scheme. Establishing a separate Civil Aviation Department will expedite this development, improve the industrial landscape, create new job opportunities, and ease the export of state-manufactured products.”
The Chief Minister also proclaimed the establishment of a Directorate of Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSME) and the Bihar Marketing Promotion Corporation.
These institutions aim to fortify entrepreneurship, create market connections, and enhance employment.
Through the MSME Directorate, the state government aims to set up Mega Skill Centres in each district, allowing youth to acquire specific skills for jobs in micro, small, and medium enterprises.
Commenting on the Bihar Marketing Promotion Corporation, Kumar stated, “It will enhance the availability, quality, and distribution of products from agriculture, animal husbandry, horticulture, food processing, handicrafts, rural industries, and small-scale and cottage industries, thereby generating employment for a significant number of youth.”
Nitish Kumar underscored that his government’s long-term strategy focuses on equipping Bihar's youth with skills, fostering self-reliance, and preparing them for the future.
“We are persistently striving for a bright future for the state's youth. The government is dedicated to offering public jobs and employment opportunities to as many young individuals as possible. We are resolute in ensuring that Bihar's youth are skilled, self-sufficient, provided with new employment opportunities, and have a secure future,” he stated.
