Key Takeaways
Chennai, Oct 30 (NationPress) The renowned Malayalam actor Mohanlal took to social media on Thursday to share his warm regards with the entire cast and crew of Jude Anthany Joseph's film 'Thudakkam', marking the acting debut of his daughter, Vismaya Mohanlal.
In a heartfelt post on his X account, Mohanlal expressed, "Every journey has its Thudakkam… and this one fills our hearts with pride and love. As parents, witnessing our Maya embark on this new chapter is a moment we will always cherish."
The actor extended his good wishes to Antony Perumbavoor, the producer, and director Jude Anthany Joseph. "Our sincere regards to Jude Anthany Joseph, whose vision consistently inspires, and to Antony Perumbavoor, our dear friend and the guiding force behind this film. A special blessing to Aashish Joe Antony as he joins this wonderful journey. May #Thudakkam signify the start of something truly beautiful for all involved," he added.
For those unfamiliar, Vismaya Mohanlal, the daughter of Malayalam cinema icon and Dadasaheb Phalke award recipient Mohanlal, is set to make her acting debut in 'Thudakkam', which is being directed by Jude Anthany Joseph and produced by Antony Perumbavoor under Aashirvad Cinemas.
The film's auspicious ceremony took place in Kochi on Thursday, signifying a significant moment for two of Malayalam cinema's illustrious families.
During his speech at the launch event, Mohanlal reflected on how he never expected his children to venture into the film industry. "When I was in Class 6, I won the best actor award - so did my son Appu (Pranav). But I never envisioned becoming an actor or that my children would follow suit. My daughter’s name, Vismaya, reflects the surprises life has offered me," he remarked.
"When she made the decision to act, we fully supported her. Both my children need to work diligently - I can only serve as a catalyst," he shared.
Mohanlal humorously mentioned Antony Perumbavoor's son, who also has a significant role in the film, stating, "Antony's son too plays a major part - but this is not merely a family affair," which elicited laughter from the audience.
Producer Antony Perumbavoor described the project as "something that cannot be articulated in words," and emphasized that Vismaya's decision to act was a joint agreement.
"Jude has become like a member of our extended family," he remarked.
