Mumbai, Jan 2 (NationPress) Actress Mugdha Agarwal asserts that her new venture, “Swipe Crime,” delivers a profound representation of the hurdles faced by today's youth as they navigate the realm of dating applications.

She emphasizes the intricate nature of online relationships, stating that the show genuinely illustrates the hazards and truths linked to digital romance in our current era.

Addressing how the series mirrors the experiences of modern youth, the actress remarked, “The dating landscape has evolved drastically, especially for younger generations. Our show addresses this shift and highlights the risks of using dating apps carelessly, making it highly relevant today.”

Commenting on the captivating title, Mugdha noted, “The name Swipe Crime keeps the mystery alive. Unlike the tentative title Dating Shating, which hinted at the theme, this title adds an element of intrigue.”

Mugdha also discussed her role as Swati, a character characterized by competitiveness and ambition. She indicated that while she resonated with Swati's academic aspirations, she distanced herself from Swati's arrogance.

“Like Swati, I was an engineering student who loved excelling, but I don’t relate to her superiority complex. Still, her ambition and determination to create something meaningful are traits I admire. Swati stands up for what’s right. Her sense of purpose and drive make her inspiring,” she elaborated.

Produced by Shruti Badjtaya and Harsh Mainra under the banner of Versatile Motion Pictures, “Swipe Crime” delves into the darker aspects of online dating platforms and social networking, illuminating the potential perils these platforms pose.

The series traces a group of college students who unwittingly find themselves caught in a web of fraud and extortion. As they become victims of a string of online scams, they are compelled to navigate the intensifying crisis in a race against time.

The show also highlights the widespread effects of cybercrime, illustrating how it continues to devastate lives nationwide. As incidents of such crimes rise, Swipe Crime serves as a timely reminder of the dangers present in the digital era.

The compelling series launched on Amazon MX Player on December 20.
