Synopsis
Key Takeaways
Mumbai, Feb 25 (NationPress) Actor Nawwab Shah reminisced about his journey as he looked back at the year 1990, the moment he first set foot in Bombay with dreams of making a mark in the film industry.
Nawwab took to Instagram, sharing a collection of photographs from his youth and reflecting on his arrival in the city with “dreams in my pockets, passion in my bones, and stars in my eyes.”
In his post, Nawwab wrote: “1990 Just arrived in Bombay with dreams in my pockets, passion in my bones, and stars in my eyes.”
He continued, “The ’90s on the calendar, but a pure ’70s soul—free, fearless, a little wild. I lived hard, loved deeply, seized the moment, and I’m still doing just that. Life is not something to be rushed or put off; it’s meant to be felt, right here, right now.”
Encouraging others to stay humble and appreciative, Nawwab emphasized that the true essence of life is about being present, loving life, and daring to push boundaries without hesitation.
“Stay present. Stay in love. Soar high, break limits, feel the adrenaline, the power, the poetry of being alive. We’re not here by chance—we’re here to blossom, to fly, to love, to care… and to genuinely live,” he concluded.
Nawwab began his acting career in 1993 with the film Akbar The Great as Babar. He later featured in popular series like Shaktimaan in 1997 and Indian in 1999.
In 2000, he collaborated with director Rajeev Kumar for Raja Ko Rani Se Pyar Ho Gaya, starring Arvind Swamy and Manisha Koirala.
Ujjal Chattopadhyay's Escape from Taliban marked the first film that allowed Nawwab to showcase his talent. Although the narrative centered around Manisha Koirala, Shah's performance received acclaim.
His roles in Farhan Akhtar's Lakshya and Saurabh Shukla's Chehraa garnered positive feedback. In 2011, Nawwab was cast as a villain in Salman Khan's Bodyguard. He later portrayed another antagonist, Jabbar, in Don 2, featuring Shah Rukh Khan. He also played a Pakistani athletics coach in Bhaag Milkha Bhaag. Nawwab married Pooja Batra in July 2019.
