Nikhil Siddhartha gifts study kits to 1,000 students in Bhimavaram
Synopsis
Key Takeaways
Telugu actor Nikhil Siddhartha distributed study kits to 1,000 school children in Bhimavaram on 8 July, pledging to extend the initiative to several more cities across the state. The gesture, coordinated with the Mahendra Raksha Dal, was shared by the actor on his Instagram page alongside a video of him interacting with the students.
What Nikhil Said
Sharing the video on Instagram, Nikhil wrote: 'Met & Gifted 1000 School Kids StudyKits & More. Thanks to @mahendrarakshadal bhai & rakshadal for arranging this in Bhimavaram. Will be doing across many more cities. Motivating these Wonderful Kids in whatever way I can.'
The actor did not specify a timeline for the city-by-city rollout, but his post confirmed that Bhimavaram was the first stop in what appears to be a sustained outreach effort.
About Swayambhu, His Upcoming Film
The charitable outing comes as Nikhil prepares for the release of his period action drama 'Swayambhu', directed by Bharat Krishnamachari. The film draws its central narrative from the history of the Sengol — an ancient emblem associated with righteous governance, justice, and moral authority.
Speaking about the film's premise, Nikhil had said: 'Swayambhu is a story derived from a very special and very unique aspect of Indian history which is the history of Sengol. We all popularly know Sengol as something that was carried by honourable Prime Minister Narendra Modi during the inauguration of the Indian Parliament and is installed in the new parliament building. But not many know the rich history behind the Sengol. It was first given by Lord Rama to his descendent. It stands for righteous governance, justice and the power to be able to effectively rule.'
He added that the Sengol had 'a lot of significance in Indian empires like the great Chola dynasty' and that the film builds a fictionalised story around this symbol and its hero.
The Sengol's Historical Significance
The Sengol returned to mainstream public consciousness after being installed in India's new Parliament building. Its layered legacy — spanning centuries and multiple Indian dynasties — forms the historical backbone of Swayambhu, which aims to blend mythology, history, and fiction into an epic cinematic narrative.
Cast and Release
Actresses Nabha Natesh and Samyuktha play the female leads in the film. Swayambhu is slated to release later this year, though an exact date has not been announced.
