Mumbai, April 23 (NationPress) In an effort to promote menstrual hygiene, actress Nimrat Kaur has actively participated in distributing menstrual hygiene kits within underprivileged communities. Each kit includes supplies sufficient for one month, featuring sanitary napkins, disposal pouches, and essential hygiene items, alongside educational resources to encourage safe menstrual practices.
Nimrat expressed her thoughts on the initiative, stating, “Menstruation is a necessary, natural, and crucial part of every woman’s health. Yet, it remains a topic often surrounded by silence and stigma, particularly in less privileged areas. When I was approached by the Hemkunt Foundation regarding their ‘Dhabba Nahi’ campaign, I felt an immense sense of responsibility to contribute. Access to menstrual products should not be a privilege; it is a fundamental right. I aspire for this initiative to not only break the absurd taboos surrounding something so fundamental to life but also to promote open discussions about periods, ensuring that no girl feels shame or has to miss school due to menstruation, and that no woman feels discomfort regarding this natural process.”
On another note, during the celebration of World Earth Day on Tuesday, Nimrat experienced the stunning Buransh flower bloom in the picturesque Kumaon region for the first time.
Sharing her profound bond with nature, Nimrat mentioned that she celebrated her birthday in the Binsar Wildlife Sanctuary.
Along with a collection of photos and videos from her recent getaway, she wrote, “My passion for the wild seems to transcend this lifetime, feeling like a part of me from a time long forgotten. Witnessing the enchanting Buransh (rhododendron) flowers in Kumaon for the first time left me speechless. The mountains have a unique way of invoking the most profound reflections in my heart through their serene presence.”
“Nestled in the embrace of the Binsar Wildlife Sanctuary at the beautiful @ninefurlongs property for my birthday retreat, awakening to the majestic beauty of the Himalayas every day, alongside the warmth and hospitality of the kind-hearted hill folk, surrounded by their rich forests, cuisine, and folklore. I am grateful every day to Mother Earth for her endless gifts…on World Earth Day, I’m sharing some glimpses from my recent Kumaoni dream,” Nimrat concluded.
