Mumbai, Jan 23 (NationPress) Nimrat Kaur recently honored the memory of her late father, Major Bhupender Singh SC, on the occasion of his 31st death anniversary. To celebrate his birth anniversary, Nimrat Kaur and her family unveiled a memorial dedicated to her father and twelve other soldiers who sacrificed their lives in service to the nation in 2024.

Nimrat Kaur shared a touching post on her Instagram, reflecting on her father's legacy. She stated, "Today marks 31 years since Papa left us while serving the nation until his last breath. The young girl in me has struggled to comprehend his tragic loss. However, as a proud daughter, I treasure the realization of a dream our family had after a three-decade wait, which we celebrated last year on his birth anniversary when we inaugurated a Shaheed Smaarak in his name, honoring twelve other brave souls from our area, Mohanpura village, Papa's birthplace."

As she reminisced about her father's remarkable journey, she added, "May this memorial serve as a beacon of hope and inspiration for future generations about the remarkable journey of a young boy who worked on the farm during the day and walked miles to attend school at night. He graduated from Jodhpur University on a scholarship, captained the hockey team, graduated from the IMA, and became an exemplary soldier. Today, I celebrate my courageous, handsome, one-in-a-billion father for everything he represented - in life and in martyrdom. Satnaam wahe guru."

Nimrat Kaur's recent Instagram post also includes a series of photographs from her visit to the memorial.

For those unfamiliar, Major Bhupender Singh SC was kidnapped on January 17 and tragically killed by terrorists on January 23, 1994. He was posthumously awarded the prestigious Shaurya Chakra at Rashtrapati Bhavan on March 13.
