In celebration of his birth, Nimrat Kaur and her family unveiled a memorial dedicated to her father and twelve other soldiers who sacrificed their lives for the nation in 2024.
In a touching post on her Instagram, Nimrat Kaur expressed her emotions, saying, "Today marks 31 years since Papa left us while serving the nation until his last breath. The young girl in me has struggled to cope with his profound loss. However, the matured daughter is filled with pride as we finally realized a dream we shared as a family after three decades, inaugurating a Shaheed Smaarak last year on his birth anniversary, honoring 12 other brave souls from his hometown of Mohanpura, Papa’s birthplace."
Reflecting on the inspiring journey of her father, she added, "May this memorial serve as a beacon of hope and inspiration for future generations, showcasing the life possibilities for a young boy who worked the fields by day and walked miles to attend school at night, graduated from Jodhpur University on scholarship, captained the hockey team, graduated from the IMA, and became a remarkable example of a true soldier. Today, I remember and celebrate my brave, handsome, one-in-a-billion father for all that he represented - both in life and in martyrdom. Satnaam wahe guru."
Nimrat Kaur's recent Instagram post included a series of photos from her visit to the memorial.
