Los Angeles, Nov 2 (NationPress) American rapper Offset finds himself in hot water as he faces a lawsuit regarding an alleged attack on a security guard.
The lawsuit, filed by Jim Sanchez, claims that the 33-year-old musician became aggressive when asked to present identification at a cannabis dispensary earlier this year in March, as reported by Female First UK.
According to court documents obtained by TMZ, the security personnel stated that when he requested Offset to show ID, the rapper reacted by becoming "hostile (and) verbally confrontational" before he purportedly "physically assaulted the Plaintiff by striking him in the face".
Sanchez further alleges that multiple individuals accompanying Offset joined in to "further assault and batter" him, resulting in significant headaches and severe neck pain, necessitating transport to the hospital by paramedics.
As reported by Female First UK, the lawsuit includes claims of assault, battery, and intentional infliction of emotional distress. Although the ‘Jealousy’ hitmaker has not publicly responded to the legal claims, his spokesperson previously asserted that the allegations were false, emphasizing that Offset had just arrived from a flight at the nearby LAX airport and had his identification with him at the dispensary.
Offset contends that he was on the verge of presenting his ID when the security guard "aggressively rushed" him, alleging that the guard spat in his face, which led to the altercation. When additional security staff intervened, Offset reportedly punched the guard, who then used mace on Offset and his companions.
Law enforcement was summoned to the scene, but by the time they arrived, the group had already departed. Meanwhile, the ‘Worth It’ artist, who shares children Blossom, 13 months, Wave, four, and Kulture, seven, with estranged partner Cardi B, as well as Kody, 10, Jordan, 15, and Kalea Marie, nine, from previous relationships, recently praised his mother for instilling the value of "discipline" in his parenting.
Offset expressed on ‘The Jennifer Hudson Show’, "The influence my mom had on me regarding raising my kids is all about discipline. Particularly in terms of education, not physical discipline, but ensuring my kids understand its importance. Nothing is handed to you on a platter.”
He also acknowledged that his children enjoy a markedly different lifestyle compared to his own upbringing, stating, "My kids ... lead a more privileged life."
