Mumbai, Sep 5 (NationPress) As the comedy thriller "Inspector Zende" premiered on Netflix on Friday, filmmaker Om Raut reflected on a cherished memory when the authentic 'Inspector Zende' encountered Manoj Bajpayee, the reel Inspector Zende.
On his official Instagram, Raut shared a snapshot of Bajpayee with the team alongside Inspector Madhukar Zende.
Expressing his excitement about being part of the project, Raut mentioned that he had heard numerous stories about Zende from his father during his childhood.
"As a child, I listened to countless tales about Inspector Zende from my dad. Today, I am fortunate to produce a film about him for Netflix," he posted on the photo-sharing platform.
"A notably special moment...In this behind-the-scenes glimpse, the Reel Inspector Zende meets the OG Inspector Zende. It was an honor to have OG Zende Sir visit our film set...He met Manoj ji and my father, and it feels truly wonderful for us," the director elaborated.
Showing his appreciation to the team, Raut concluded: "Thank you Chinmay Mandlekar, Manoj Bajpayee sir, Netflix, Jay Shewakramani, and the entire cast & crew of Inspector Zende for making this journey a reality."
Commenting on his experience of being part of "Inspector Zende", Manoj stated: "What intrigued me about Inspector Zende was that he wasn’t seeking fame — he was simply performing his duty, yet apprehended one of the most notorious criminals twice. His courage, humor, and that distinct Mumbai essence make his journey genuinely inspiring."

Written and directed by Chinmay Mandlekar, the project was produced by Jay Shewakramani and Om Raut under the banner of Northern Lights Films.
The drama features Manoj Bajpayee as Inspector Madhukar Zende and Jim Sarbh as Carl Bhojraj - a character inspired by the notorious serial killer Charles Sobhraj, along with Sachin Khedekar, Girija Oak, Bhalchandra Kadam, Harish Dudhade, Bharat Savale, Nitin Bhajan, and Onkar Raut in significant roles.
