Mumbai, Nov 15 (NationPress) Acclaimed actor Paresh Rawal, known for his role in the newly released film ‘The Taj Story’, firmly believes that India's rich diversity is not a double-edged sword.
During an interview with IANS as part of the film's promotional efforts, Rawal was questioned about the potential negative implications of India's vast diversity on society.
The veteran actor responded, “We have coexisted with this diversity for countless years. It cannot possibly be a double-edged sword. Occasionally, individuals may attempt to disrupt it, but the people of this nation are extraordinary. I have great admiration for them.”
He added, “No one can tarnish this nation. However, there are those who persist in their endeavors. Moreover, given the fragile situation we find ourselves in, our surroundings are quite volatile. There is considerable unrest, and that will inevitably have repercussions. We must be cautious.”
In ‘The Taj Story’, Rawal portrays Vishnu Das, a tour guide at the Taj Mahal, who becomes determined to reveal its “true” story. The film unfolds in a courtroom drama format, where Vishnu Das initiates a legal case to contest the established narratives regarding the Taj Mahal’s origins.
Amid concerns that the film addresses sensitive topics, the actor has clarified that it does not delve into religious issues and has urged viewers to reserve judgment until they have seen the film.
On his social media platform X, formerly Twitter, Paresh Rawal issued a statement saying, “Disclaimer – The creators of The Taj Story clarify that the film does not engage with religious themes, nor does it assert that a Shiv temple is situated within the Taj Mahal. It is focused entirely on historical facts. We kindly encourage you to watch the film and form your own opinion. Thank you.”
