After the historic victory of the Indian Women’s Cricket team in the World Cup, Harmanpreet appeared on the popular gaming reality show, "Kaun Banega Crorepati".
During her conversation with host Amitabh Bachchan, the cricketer recounted a touching story about how her father once crafted a special T-shirt for her with the words ‘Good Batting’ sewn on it.
This led Harmanpreet to share the heartfelt backstory behind that treasured memory.
“On the day I was born, my father was at work when our family informed him that my mother was taken to the hospital. When I first wore those clothes, nobody noticed. But years later, after I played for India and while moving houses, my mother found them and said, ‘Let me show you the clothes you wore on your first day.’ I saw a shirt with ‘Good Batting’ written on it," she shared.
Big B also inquired what motivated Harmanpreet to pursue cricket. She responded, “One day, my school principal noticed me playing. He mentioned that the school had many sports but lacked a cricket team. If I joined, he would form one since he had girls participating in other sports. So, I joined the school, and he created the team for me, which is how I got my chance to play for the girls’ cricket team.”
