Mumbai, April 18 (NationPress) Actress Preity Zinta, co-owner of Punjab Kings, has expressed her admiration for team member Prabhsimran Singh, highlighting his journey and commending his soft-spoken nature and discipline even during his time on the bench.

A user on social media platform X (formerly Twitter) shared insights about Prabhsimran’s evolution from a costly, untested IPL investment to a bold match-winner, molded by years of perseverance and challenges while waiting on the bench.

Preity chimed into the discussion, referring to Prabhsimran as “soft-spoken, well-behaved, and incredibly sweet.”

She added: “His mother prepares meals and brings them to the hotel (including the best Kadi Chawal & Bhartha among other dishes) for the entire team during every IPL season. I never heard him complain or arrive late while he was on the bench.”

She expressed immense pride as she watches him excel in matches, stating, “Observing him succeed brings me tremendous joy because nothing is more fulfilling than witnessing a genuinely good person triumph. I couldn't resist commenting on your post as it appeared on my timeline,” she concluded.

On April 17, Punjab Kings' bowling coach Sairaj Bahutule praised Prabhsimran Singh for his outstanding batting performances, noting that the wicketkeeper-batter has been a pivotal factor in the team's consistent scoring over recent years.

Continuing his excellent form, Prabhsimran anchored the team's chase with an unbeaten 80 runs off just 39 balls, marking his second consecutive half-century.

“Prabhsimran is an exceptional player. He has demonstrated remarkable consistency at the top and adapts effectively to match scenarios, ensuring we secure strong starts. He has been instrumental in our consistent scoring in the last few seasons,” Bahutule stated.

In their latest IPL match, Punjab Kings triumphed over the five-time champions, Mumbai Indians.

The Mumbai Indians faced a setback in Match 24 of IPL 2026 against PBKS at the Wankhede Stadium on Thursday.

Prabhsimran and Shreyas Iyer both scored half-centuries, leading PBKS to victory against Sunrisers Hyderabad just days before. They expertly managed another chase, with Prabhsimran scoring 80 not out off 39 balls and Iyer contributing 66 off 35, propelling PBKS to 198/3 in 16.3 overs after opting to bat second and limiting Mumbai Indians to 195/6, despite an impressive unbeaten century from Quinton de Kock (112*) and a fifty from Naman Dhir.

While Prabhsimran registered his second fifty of IPL 2026, Iyer notched his third consecutive half-century in the tournament.
