Anupam expressed his sorrow, stating, "Deeply deeply saddened and shocked to know about the demise of one of my dearest and closest friends #PritishNandy! An incredible poet, writer, filmmaker, and a courageous and distinctive editor/journalist. He was my pillar of support and a profound source of strength during my early days in Mumbai.”
He continued, “We had many shared interests. He was one of the most fearless individuals I have ever known—always larger than life. I learned countless lessons from him. We hadn’t met frequently in recent times, but there was a period when we were inseparable! I will always cherish the moment he surprised me by featuring me on the cover of a magazine, particularly #TheIllustratedWeekly. He embodied the true essence of यारों का यार! I will miss you and the moments we shared, my friend. Rest in peace. #HeartBroken.”
