Chennai, Mar 17 (NationPress) The much-anticipated third chapter of director Sukumar’s blockbuster pan-Indian series ‘Pushpa’, starring Allu Arjun and Rashmika Mandanna, is slated for release in 2028, as confirmed by one of the producers.
In a recent video interview, producer Yalamanchili Ravi Shankar from Mythri Movie Makers, the studio behind the franchise, affirmed that ‘Pushpa 3’ is on track and will indeed premiere in 2028.
Ravi Shankar mentioned, “Pushpa 3 is definitely in the pipeline. Currently, Allu Arjun is occupied with Atlee’s film, followed by another project with Trivikram. After these two films, he will focus on Pushpa 3. It will take him around two years to finish them.”
In addition, he outlined the future plans for director Sukumar, stating, “Similarly, Sukumar will direct a film featuring Ram Charan. Following that, he will start working on the narrative for Pushpa 3. We won’t delay this project as much; expect us back in three and a half years. So, by 2025, we aim to release Pushpa 3 in 2028.”
The second installment, Pushpa 2, directed by Sukumar and led by Allu Arjun, has recently celebrated an impressive 100-day theatrical run.
Pushpa 2: The Rule has emerged as the highest-grossing film of 2024, breaking numerous records since its debut. It has captivated audiences and shattered box office milestones, becoming the first film to surpass the ₹800 Crore mark in Hindi and achieving over ₹1800 Crore globally, thus marking it as India’s highest-earning film.
The film narrates the gripping journey of Pushpa Raj, a man who, after losing everything, resolves that he will no longer allow anyone to take anything from him.
It chronicles his ascent to power as he becomes the leader of a formidable syndicate that unlawfully trades in red sandalwood.
With three parts in total, the series is produced by Mythri Movie Makers and Sukumar Writings, with music by T Series. The second installment was released on December 5, 2024, and now the third part is set to be unveiled in 2028.
