Raj Babbar expressed that despite the emergence of multiple platforms like television, cinema, and OTT, theatre will always be the heart of performance art.

In terms of his cinematic career, after receiving training at NSD, Raj Babbar made his film debut in the political satire 'Kissa Kursi Ka' back in 1977, leading to a series of notable projects.
Among his significant films are 'Nikaah', featuring alongside Deepak Parashar and Salma Agha, 'Aaj Ki Aawaz' with Smita Patil, 'Ghayal', 'Prem Geet', and 'Dehleez'.
In 1989, Babbar ventured into politics by joining the Janata Dal, and later became a member of the Indian National Congress in 2008.
