Mumbai, April 21 (NationPress) Director Raj Kumar Gupta, gearing up for the release of his forthcoming film ‘Raid 2’, has commended actor Riteish Deshmukh and disclosed how he was selected for the role of the film's antagonist.
As ‘Raid 2’ approaches its debut, the tension for the characters intensifies, amplifying the excitement. In this sequel, Ajay Devgn reprises his role as Amay Patnaik, who faces off against Riteish Deshmukh, portraying a politician.
Discussing Riteish’s casting in ‘Raid 2’, the director remarked, “I have appreciated Riteish's performances for quite a while. We recognize he excels in comedic roles, shines in Marathi films as a lead, and even successfully portrays villains. He is genuinely a remarkable actor. Last year, I collaborated with him on a series where he was the lead, and since then, he has been on my mind; I was determined to work with him again in the future.”
He added, “After finalizing the script for ‘Raid 2’ and clarifying the antagonist's identity and journey, I approached him and presented the script.”
Gupta also recounted Riteish’s response after hearing the script, stating, “He was thrilled with the script, loved his character, and that’s how he came on board. I am delighted to have him as the antagonist in the film.”
