On Monday, the actor took to his social media platforms to unveil the release date for 'Raid 2', which promises to deliver even more action and suspense in this eagerly awaited sequel. Ajay shared an eye-catching poster from the film, showcasing himself, and captioned it, "Naya Shehar. Nayi File. Aur Amay Patnaik Ki Ek Nayi Raid. #Raid2 knocking at your doors in cinemas near you on 1st May, 2025."

'Raid 2', directed by Raj Kumar Gupta, also features Riteish Deshmukh and Vaani Kapoor. This sequel to 'Raid' (2018) continues the story of IRS officer Amay Patnaik, who investigates another white-collar crime. Much like its predecessor, this sequel draws inspiration from actual income tax raids conducted by officers from the Income Tax Department, who work in conjunction with intelligence agencies to tackle white-collar offenses.

The film was officially announced in April 2020, with pre-production beginning in August 2022. Ajay Devgn reprises his role as Amay Patnaik from the first film. In January 2024, Ritesh was confirmed as the film’s antagonist, while Vaani joined the cast to replace Ileana D'Cruz.

According to recent updates, the teaser for 'Raid 2' is expected to be unveiled alongside Salman Khan's much-anticipated film 'Sikandar', which is set to premiere on March 30.

Additionally, the 'Omkara' actor is also involved in the upcoming sequel to 'Son of Sardaar', which features Mrunal Thakur and Sanjay Dutt. The original 'Son of Sardaar' was released in 2012 and starred Ajay, Sanjay, Sonakshi Sinha, and Juhi Chawla.

Most recently, Ajay appeared in Rohit Shetty’s police drama 'Singham Again', based on a story conceptualized by Kshitij Patwardhan. This action thriller featured Devgn in the lead role, alongside Akshay Kumar, Ranveer Singh, Tiger Shroff, Kareena Kapoor Khan, Deepika Padukone, Arjun Kapoor, and Jackie Shroff.
