Chennai, May 24 (NationPress) Renowned Tamil filmmaker Ram, known for his impactful work in the industry, recently unveiled 'Sunflower,' the initial track from his highly anticipated film 'Paranthu Po'. In a recent statement, Ram expressed his affection for sunflowers, stating that for him, the flower signifies a crush.

On Saturday, Ram clarified that the recently launched video clip for 'Sunflower' should not be categorized as a single or teaser; rather, it features several scenes from 'Paranthu Po'.

The celebrated director, recognized for his critically acclaimed films such as Katradhu Tamizh, Taramani, and Thanga Meengal, announced, "Our film, Paranthu Po, is set to premiere on July 4th. The first track has been released, titled 'Sunflower – not a single, not a teaser' because it includes snippets from the film."

Ram reminisced about his profound fondness for sunflowers, recalling an extraordinary opportunity to film in a sunflower field during a July sunrise while working on his debut film. He mentioned, "We captured the song 'Innum Oru Iravu' from Katradhu Tamizh in the sunflower fields of Kadappa, Andhra Pradesh."

He added, "I had hoped to shoot portions of 'Ananda Yaazhai' from 'Thanga Meengal' in a sunflower field, but the blooming season didn’t coincide with our schedule. Instead, we ventured to the misty mountains of Achankovil, Kerala for that shoot. Similar circumstances affected 'Peranbu' as well; I envisioned a house amidst sunflowers, but we adapted to a lakeside residence in Kodaikanal, Tamil Nadu due to seasonal constraints."

Discussing how sunflowers became integral to the storyline of 'Paranthu Po', Ram remarked, "The sunflower naturally found its way into our narrative. Despite missing the peak blooming season, we discovered a quaint garden in Mysore, Karnataka and even located a solitary sunflower in Annur, Tamil Nadu. I realize that my passion for capturing sunflowers on film will only deepen with each project I undertake because that is the essence of sunflowers."

He continued, "Whether you encounter a lone sunflower, a vast field, or simply reflect on them, the joy they evoke is consistent. The golden luminance of sunflowers reminds me of that youthful affection we once called puppy love — a sentiment our children today refer to as a crush. For me, the sunflower epitomizes this feeling."

He described the song 'Sunflower' as representing the intersection of a father’s childhood and his son’s. The director anticipates that upon the film's release on July 4, sunflowers will be in full bloom, aligning with the season.

"Join us to watch Paranthu Po surrounded by sunflowers," he invited, highlighting the film's cast, which includes Shiva, Grace Antony, Anjali, Aju Varghese, Vijay Yesudas, and a lively group of young performers.
