Mumbai, Jan 28 (NationPress) In anticipation of the much-awaited release of her crime thriller "Mardaani 3", actress Rani Mukerji attended a special event hosted by the National Commission for Women, titled “Voices of Grace and Grit”.
During her address, Rani emphasized that throughout her illustrious career, she has focused on portraying characters that represent women and women-centric stories.
She noted that nowadays, women are effectively leading organizations and influencing societal change, highlighting that even the Hon’ble President of India is a woman.
The 'Hichki' star also pointed out that women can adeptly juggle their professional ambitions along with family duties, doing so with poise and resolve.
Echoing Rani's views, Hon’ble Chairperson Smt. Vijaya Rahatkar remarked that the notion of “mother’s guilt” has no relevance in contemporary society. She encouraged women to take pride in their multifaceted roles and leadership skills.
At the event, Rani unveiled the ‘Wall of Fame’, a dedicated space at the Commission that honors the achievements and leadership of past and present Chairpersons of the National Commission for Women.

Receiving the Governor’s Award of Excellence and the Vande Mataram Puraskar—on my 30th year in cinema—is incredibly humbling. This recognition not only honors my work but feels like a return home, a warm embrace from West Bengal, my roots. I hope I have made you proud and will continue to do so. Although my acting journey has primarily unfolded in Hindi cinema, my roots remain unmistakably Bengali.”
On the professional front, Rani is celebrating three decades in the film industry with "Mardaani 3", directed by Abhiraj Minawala and produced by Aditya Chopra, which is scheduled for theatrical release on January 30.
