Mumbai, Aug 19 (NationPress) Actor Ranvir Shorey, who is garnering a positive response for his performance in the newly launched streaming series ‘Bindiya Ke Bahubali’, stated that the show exhibits elements reminiscent of ‘The Godfather’.
‘Bindiya Ke Bahubali’ is a gripping gangster drama set in the central town of Bindiya, where the influential Davan family dominates the landscape. With Bada Davan incarcerated just before the elections, the responsibility shifts to his son, Chhote Davan (played by Ranvir Shorey), who must navigate external adversaries and internal family tensions.
Discussing his attraction to the project, Shorey remarked, “The primary element that captivated me was the script. The characters were exceptionally well-crafted, providing a sharp perspective on the intersection of family and politics. Additionally, Raj Amit Kumar demonstrated impressive clarity as a director, which was truly commendable. The cast also contributed significantly to my excitement; I was thrilled to collaborate with Seema ji, and the ambitious nature of the production was evident from the outset.”
The series features a talented ensemble cast, including Saurabh Shukla, Sheeba Chadha, Seema Biswas, Sai Tamhankar, Aakash Dahiya, and Tanishtha Chatterjee.
Shorey further expressed, “Portraying Chhote Davan presented its challenges. He is complex and unpredictable, constantly raising the question of how much to reveal and when. I could sense traces of Macbeth in his character, and at times, even The Godfather. Such a rich role is too enticing to ignore.”
‘Bindiya Ke Bahubali’ can be streamed on Amazon MX Player.
Previously, the actor mentioned that he feels entirely at ease playing the “foil” in a comedic context, as long as the scene is effective. Shorey stated, “I don’t particularly seek out central roles in comedy; I’m quite comfortable being the foil as long as it works well. This series has been a very fulfilling experience for me.”
He also noted that comedy intertwined with mystery is among the most exceptional subgenres. Recently, Shorey participated in ‘Bigg Boss OTT 3’, where he was a finalist. His tenure on the show attracted considerable attention and resonated with viewers, culminating in his finish at third place, behind Naezy and winner Sana Makbul.
