Ritwik Bhowmik Describes Crew's Perception of Naseeruddin Shah as a Majestic Lion

Mumbai, Dec 18 (NationPress) Actor Ritwik Bhowmik, who is garnering significant acclaim for his performance in the recently launched second season of the popular streaming series ‘Bandish Bandits’, has opened up about his experiences with the esteemed actor Naseeruddin Shah.

During a conversation on the YouTube channel ‘Digital Commentary’, he remarked, “There was a phase when we would tease him by saying, ‘with so many youngsters around, we feel intimidated. Please don’t sit like that’. The entire crew would whisper, ‘the sir is present. let’s not move around too much on set, avoid this’.”

“I found it amusing how the crew, usually so lively, treated him like a wounded lion in the jungle just because he hadn’t returned to the van. In reality, he was never like that. He is an incredibly warm person whose demeanor suggests otherwise. He actually sits there thinking, ‘come on, someone engage me in conversation’. Meanwhile, everyone scurries around in trepidation. But he is genuinely friendly, extremely friendly,” he elaborated.

‘Bandish Bandits’, an Indian musical romantic drama, features Naseeruddin Shah as Sangeet Samrat, the grandfather of Radhe, portrayed by Ritwik.

The series is crafted by Amritpal Singh Bindra and Anand Tiwari, known for works like ‘Go Goa Gone’ and ‘Bad Newz’. It also stars Shreya Chaudhary as Tamanna Sharma, a pop vocalist, and delves into the discussion of music as either a discipline or a form of freedom.

Produced by Still & Still Moving Pictures and directed by Anand Tiwari, the script is a collaboration among Bindra, Tiwari, and Lara Chandni. The series is available for streaming on Prime Video.
