Siddharth Pandit Discusses How His Cameo in ‘Bad Newz’ Led to His Role in ‘Bandish Bandits’

Mumbai, December 3 (NationPress) - Music composer and producer Siddharth Pandit, known for his work on the second season of the musical streaming series ‘Bandish Bandits’, disclosed that his collaboration with the show’s director Anand Tiwari was initiated through a cameo he made in ‘Bad Newz’, which ultimately led him to join the project for ‘Bandish Bandits’.

Siddharth, who has nearly a decade of experience in the film industry, boasts a portfolio that includes titles such as ‘Uri: The Surgical Strike’, ‘Modern Love Mumbai’, ‘Rudra’, ‘City of Dreams’, and ‘Selection Day’.

Reflecting on the series, he stated, “Creating the music for ‘Bandish Bandits’ was an extraordinary journey. Anand Tiwari came across my independent album ‘Azaad Sangeet’ and expressed particular admiration for the song ‘Hichki’ from my debut album. We reworked this track to align perfectly with the show’s narrative and characters, resulting in ‘Hichki 2.0’.”

He further shared, “Another piece, ‘Khaamakha’, originated as a draft I was composing for ‘Azaad Sangeet’. Upon sharing it with him, he was thrilled. The enchanting voice of Nikhita Gandhi brought this song to life, resonating beautifully with the character of Tamanna, portrayed by Shreya Chaudhary. I am immensely thankful for his confidence in integrating my music into such a prestigious series.”

Siddharth succeeded Shankar–Ehsaan–Loy, who were responsible for the music in the first season of the show, marking their debut on OTT platforms. When queried about his involvement in the second season, he remarked, “As time progressed, I felt a strong desire to create something deeply personal and decided to unveil my own compositions through my independent music venture, Azaad Sangeet.”

He added, “I have launched three albums under this initiative, and Anand had been following my work for some time. Our first meeting occurred during his previous film ‘Bad Newz’, where I made a minor appearance as a band member. This initial connection led to further conversations, and two years ago, our journey in crafting the music for ‘Bandish Bandits’ commenced.”

For him, creativity embodies freedom. The composer emphasized that his focus lies in authentic self-expression rather than fixating on commercial success or current trends.

He expressed, “I take pleasure in merging various genres and styles, often leading to unexpected outcomes. My education at AR Rahman’s KM Music Conservatory in Chennai instilled in me the importance of staying true to my art, allowing everything else to align naturally. With this foundation, I approach every project with the intention of producing something innovative and significant.”

Regarding his forthcoming projects, he mentioned, “I recently had the honor of producing a stunning EP for the legendary Rekha Bhardwaj. It was a delightful challenge to infuse my own essence into the arrangement and production while maintaining its core essence.”

“Additionally, I am planning to bring Azaad Sangeet to the stage with a live performance. This journey is incredibly thrilling, and I eagerly anticipate sharing it with audiences soon,” he concluded.

Bandish Bandits’ is slated for release on December 13 on Prime Video.
