Mumbai, May 26 (NationPress) Bollywood icon Raveena Tandon disclosed that her aspirations did not lie in acting; rather, she aimed to become a director, following in the footsteps of her father, Ravi Tandon.
During a discussion with Farah Khan on her YouTube channel, Farah introduced Raveena as the “most stunning heroine.”
Farah reflected, “I first encountered Raveena when she was just 16. I’ve known her ever since. She was incredibly beautiful, and I told her, ‘You will become a heroine.’ To which she replied, ‘I will sweep in the studio’... but I desire to be in films.”
Raveena interjected, stating, “However, that narrative isn’t entirely accurate. I never aspired to be a heroine; I wanted to direct, just like my father. I was interested in creating advertisements, and I never envisioned myself as a heroine.”
Farah then reminisced about Raveena’s father, noting, “I want to emphasize that her father was my favorite director, known for films like Khel Khel Mein, Majboor, and Jhuta Kahin Ka… all classics.”
Raveena added, “The film Baghban was a remake of his work, and it was also adapted from Zindagi Ki.”
Raveena burst onto the scene with her acting debut in the 1991 action film Patthar Ke Phool. She solidified her status with hits like Dilwale, Mohra, Khiladiyon Ka Khiladi, Ziddi, and Laadla.

In the 2000s, she explored arthouse films, taking on roles in Daman and Aks.
After a significant break, Raveena returned to the screen with the thriller Maatr, followed by appearances in the thriller series Aranyak and the blockbuster K.G.F: Chapter 2.
