Synopsis
Key Takeaways
Mumbai, Jan 18 (NationPress) Actor Ravi Kishan is set to take on a significant role in the upcoming film "Bhabhiji Ghar Par Hain", a movie adaptation of the beloved television series of the same name.
During the trailer launch of this drama, Ravi Kishan was prompted to share his thoughts regarding the lack of recognition for television actors compared to their counterparts in other film industries.
When asked, "Even today, television actors are not acknowledged, while Bollywood receives accolades. What are your thoughts on this?"
In response, Ravi Kishan highlighted the case of television actress and politician Smriti Irani.
He stated, "She was a prominent television star, and the government, under the BJP and Modi ji, elevated her to a significant ministerial role in the Cabinet."
"Many television actors have transitioned to cinema and have even received National Awards. Numerous TV stars have also served as MPs and MLAs. It’s not an unacknowledged realm."
Furthermore, Ravi Kishan mentioned that he has proposed a private member bill in Parliament advocating for a pension scheme for television actors, especially those who play minor roles and struggle financially.
He elaborated, "I’ve urged the government to provide a pension-like scheme, land, and housing for all Indian actors working in Hindi cinema. I’ve voiced concerns for character actors who may only have a single line. They sometimes face financial hardships; this bill I proposed aims to address that. It has been presented in the assembly and will be debated for approval."
