Chennai, July 17 (NationPress) The production team behind director Sathiya Siva's intense jailbreak drama 'Freedom', starring Sasikumar and Lijomol Jose in prominent roles, has officially confirmed a delay in the film's release.
Initially set to premiere on July 10 this year, the film's launch did not occur as planned. On Thursday, the production team issued an official announcement revealing that the release has been postponed.
On the social media platform X, producer Pandiyan Parasuraman of Vijaya Ganapathy Pictures stated, "The film Freedom, featuring Sasikumar and Lijomol, directed by Sathiya Siva and produced by Vijaya Ganapathy Pictures, was originally slated for release on July 10, 2025. Unfortunately, due to unforeseen circumstances, this release has been delayed, and a new date will be announced shortly."
Freedom draws inspiration from a true event, recounting a jailbreak that took place in 1995, highlighting the plight of refugees who escaped from a prison in Vellore, Tamil Nadu. The film captures the anguish and struggles of these refugees, wrongfully imprisoned.
The project has sparked significant interest among movie enthusiasts, as its creators assert that it is the first jailbreak film produced in the Tamil language.
In addition to Sasikumar and Lijomol Jose, the cast includes a variety of actors such as Malavika Avinash, Boss Venkat, Ramesh Kanna, Sudev Nair, and Boys Manikandan, among others.
