Mumbai, Dec 4 (NationPress) Shuchi Talati's acclaimed film Girls Will Be Girls is poised for its launch in India on Prime Video on December 18.

Having made its global debut at the Sundance Film Festival, the Indo-French collaboration Girls Will Be Girls has enchanted viewers worldwide, featuring at prestigious festivals such as TIFF (Toronto International Film Festival) and Cannes 2024. The film recently premiered in India at the MAMI Film Festival, garnering numerous awards from esteemed international festivals.

Produced by Richa Chadha, Claire Chassagne, and Shuchi Talati, with Ali Fazal serving as the executive producer, the film is both written and directed by Shuchi Talati. The cast includes Kani Kusruti along with newcomers Preeti Panigrahi and Kesav Binoy Kiron in significant roles.

In her remarks, Richa, the co-producer of the film, expressed, “Girls Will Be Girls is a narrative that encapsulates the genuine and unfiltered experiences of young adults, embodying the rebellious essence of youth while delving into the complexities of adulthood, where inter-generational clashes and the quest for autonomy are prevalent. We are excited that the universal themes of our passion project have resonated with global audiences, achieving international recognition at some of the most esteemed film festivals. With the film gearing up for an exclusive digital release on Prime Video in India, we are eager for it to connect with audiences across the nation who might find reflections of their own journeys in Mira’s narrative.”

Ali Fazal remarked, “Girls Will Be Girls holds a special place for Richa and me as it marks our inaugural project as producers. A great deal of heart, enthusiasm, and effort has been invested in realizing this vision, making it a significant journey of learning and growth. The remarkable reception from international viewers has been incredibly inspiring, motivating us to pursue our love for unique storytelling. Having this film debut exclusively on Prime Video, which feels like a second home for both of us as actors, enhances the significance of this project.”

Girls Will Be Girls offers a poignant and thought-provoking examination of adolescence and societal norms, all through the female perspective. The film follows 18-year-old Mira on her self-discovery journey, navigating her own rebellious awakening and emotional challenges while facing her mother’s unresolved coming-of-age issues.
