Mumbai, Oct 11 (NationPress) Actor-director Rishab Shetty, who is reveling in the success of his latest release ‘Kantara: Chapter 1’, has asserted that the film's production faced no challenges.
During an interaction with IANS at a luxurious venue in Bandra West, Mumbai, Shetty celebrated the film's achievements and clarified that reports of production delays were narratives crafted by certain individuals against the film.
He stated, “We didn’t encounter any issues; it was a narrative created at that time, as we were not engaging with the media or the public. We were deep in the forest where there was no network coverage.”
The filming spanned approximately 200 days, with many scenes shot in secluded, challenging forest areas. Tragically, a junior artist, M.F. Kapil, lost his life after drowning in the Souparnika River near Kollur during a break. This incident prompted an FIR and raised safety concerns on set. Furthermore, there were accidents involving a bus carrying junior artists near Jadkal, Karnataka, resulting in injuries to six individuals, which disrupted shooting schedules.
He elaborated, “Typically, when a film is released, the second part follows with continuous promotions, posters, interviews, and teasers. However, we did not engage in such activities; we initially released just the trailer and teaser, then went straight to shooting. After completing the shoot, we shared a making video and a wrap-up video. During that time, some individuals created a narrative that spread across social media.”
The actor firmly denied any significant issues during the film's production.
‘Kantara: Chapter 1’ has garnered overwhelmingly positive reviews, celebrated for its stunning visuals, grand scale, and cultural richness. The film has grossed INR 386.9 crore net in India.
