Rose Reflects on Self-Acceptance and Growth During BLACKPINK's Milestone Year
Synopsis
Key Takeaways
Los Angeles, March 22 (NationPress) The BLACKPINK vocalist, Rose, has shared that she does not yet feel completely at ease in her own skin.
This year marks the 10th anniversary of the K-pop girl group, and although the 29-year-old artist has produced successful solo projects, she acknowledges that her confidence still requires nurturing, according to a report by Female First UK.
In an interview with CR Fashion Book, Rose expressed, "I feel significantly more comfortable than I did in my early twenties, but I'm still on my journey. At 29, I haven’t fully conquered my self-acceptance, yet I can confidently say that I’m in a better place than before.”
When asked if confidence is a constant evolution, she replied, "I’m unsure if I've achieved it completely. It’s a daily commitment. Even during my confident moments, my mind is always evolving and encountering new challenges. It’s a continuous process. I've been discovering little strategies—small insights into how my mind operates.”
Additionally, Rose conveyed her pride in BLACKPINK's decade-long presence in the music industry.
“I genuinely feel it now. A few years ago, I would have remarked, 'Has it really been that long?' But now, the weight of the decade is palpable. We’ve experienced so much together. I’m thankful for those years. In the past, I concentrated solely on my performance persona, often neglecting other aspects of myself. I’ve come to realize that for everything to thrive, I must nurture all parts of me, and I’m still figuring out how to do just that,” she stated.
Rose also highlighted her dedication to work, admitting that it empowers her to seize numerous opportunities.
“I take pride in my work ethic. I often overlook its significance as it feels instinctive to me. But I am proud of it because it fuels my drive to explore various endeavors while still enjoying the process,” she noted.
Despite achieving global recognition with BLACKPINK, Rose revealed that there are moments when she dreams of anonymity, as it would grant her a sense of freedom.
