When asked about her preparation for this historically rich role, Rukmini emphasized that embodying a 4th-century princess presented a unique challenge compared to her previous characters.
She shared, “There were significant vibes to consider. The essence of the character began with body language. It’s essential, regardless of whether you are depicting a princess or a modern college student, as it significantly influences on-screen presence.”
Rukmini continued, “Before filming commenced, I participated in a workshop lasting four to five days with the film’s writers to truly grasp the essence of the princess, which was an enjoyable experience. We focused on posture, gait, and eye contact, all critical to the character's body language. Additionally, I received horse-riding lessons, which were incredibly enjoyable.”
She elaborated on her rigorous training, stating, “We also underwent sword-fighting lessons to develop a more dynamic body language, beyond mere standing or walking. Moreover, I had to engage in emotional preparation for each scene and dialogue context.”
