In their own words, the Russo Brothers described the experience as deeply personal. 'The most emotional night of our careers was sneaking into theaters on opening night of Avengers Endgame. We stood in the back and watched a thousand strangers react — the gasps, the cheers, the tears. We got chills,' they wrote in the caption accompanying the post.

The directors, who grew up as comic book fans in Cleveland, Ohio, added that they 'may have shed a tear or two' themselves. For two filmmakers who had carried the dream of crafting stories that could make audiences 'leap out of their seats with excitement,' the moment represented a full-circle reckoning with their childhood ambitions.

A New Generation Gets Its Theatre Moment
