Mumbai, Dec 10 (NationPress) Saba Ali Khan, sister to Bollywood stars Saif Ali Khan and Soha Ali Khan, has opened up about her absence from their mother Sharmila Tagore's birthday festivities.
On Tuesday, she shared a heartfelt note on her Instagram Stories, detailing the circumstances that led to her missing the special occasion.
She expressed, “I realize I might be overreacting a bit. But here’s the situation. I recently had a surgery that came up unexpectedly, which is why I couldn't celebrate Ma's birthday. Currently, I'm recovering and was advised against washing my hair, so I opted to visit Freedas for a wash. I didn’t need it to be dried because sadly, it's not as thick as before, just a wash would suffice.”
Continuing, she explained, “The stylist was kind enough to use the dryer for just a brief moment, and I appreciated it. After paying, I was called back and informed, 'Ma'am, you owe us for the drying service.' I insisted, 'But my hair is still wet! I didn’t request it to be dried.' They insisted he had used the dryer. I was genuinely confused and insisted my hair wasn’t dry! In the end, I just paid.”
“I felt cheated and disappointed. I know it sounds silly, but with everything happening lately and missing the Delhi celebration, I felt emotional. It might seem ridiculous, but it also felt a bit unfair! But that’s just how LIFE goes. We learn from it and move forward,” she concluded.
Sharmila Tagore celebrated her 81st birthday on December 8, 2025, in an intimate gathering in Delhi with close family, including Soha Ali Khan, Saif Ali Khan, and granddaughter Sara Ali Khan.
