Sameer Anjaan: 'AI Can Make Music, But Lacks Emotion'
Synopsis
Key Takeaways
Mumbai, April 14 (NationPress) Renowned lyricist Sameer Anjaan has unveiled his new music label, ‘Aumora Music’, envisioned as a sanctuary for artists with authentic stories to tell.
This label aims to offer a platform for musicians who want to connect with their audience through meaningful music.
Sameer expressed his commitment to creating music that endures rather than merely chasing fleeting trends.
He highlighted that while Indian music boasts considerable volume, it often lacks the necessary depth.
Reflecting on his extensive career, Sameer stated, “I have penned over 4,000 songs and witnessed which ones remain memorable and which are quickly forgotten. Aumora Music is about more than just adding to my song count. It’s about establishing a nurturing environment for artists who possess genuine messages, where music is crafted to endure, not just to become a passing fad.”
“Indian music has sufficient volume; it is depth that is needed. This is the label I have always dreamed of creating,” he added.
At the launch event, Sameer also discussed the rising role of AI in the music sector.
He noted that while AI can compose music, it lacks the ability to evoke the emotions that human composers and singers convey.
Addressing the impact of technology on the music landscape, Sameer remarked, “AI can produce music, but it cannot generate emotion. It is the life experiences of individuals that shape emotions, which in turn are reflected in art.”
The label’s strategic plan from 2026 to 2032 focuses on three primary areas: music publishing and licensing, live performances, and artist development.
They aim to release over 500 original tracks by 2028, alongside touring eight major cities and organizing concerts for the diaspora in the UAE, UK, and North America.
Throughout his 40-year career, Sameer has contributed to more than 640 Hindi films, writing over 4,000 songs.
