Did Sanjay Mishra Learn from His NSD Senior Irrfan Khan?
Synopsis
Key Takeaways
Mumbai, Feb 2 (NationPress) Renowned actor Sanjay Mishra reminisced about his time at the National School of Drama and expressed how much he gained from his seniors, particularly Irrfan Khan.
As part of the promotional activities for his upcoming crime drama "Vadh 2", Sanjay along with his co-stars Neena Gupta and Kumud Mishra returned to the National School of Drama (NSD) in New Delhi.
Notably, all three actors are esteemed NSD alumni.
In a heartfelt discussion, Sanjay reflected on his early days at NSD, highlighting the priceless lessons he learned by simply observing his seniors like Irrfan Khan.
He remarked, “I don’t even know what I learned or didn’t learn at NSD, but what I truly had were people like Irrfan bhai. You could simply watch him. Virendra Saxena was there, Ankur ji was there, Robin Das is sitting right in front of you today while you’re busy looking at your mobile phones.”
“Just watching them was a lesson in itself. Anup da as well. These were people you kept observing,” he added.
Recalling a specific moment that showcased Irrfan’s talent, Sanjay shared, “I remember once thinking, while Irrfan bhai was performing, ‘When will this man start acting?’ That’s the level at which he was playing the game.”
Irrfan, who made an indelible impact with his acting skill, screen presence, and commitment to his craft, had publicly shared his diagnosis of neuroendocrine cancer in 2018.
Despite undergoing treatment in the U.S., he ultimately succumbed to cancer in April 2020, leaving a significant void in the entertainment realm.
Turning back to "Vadh 2", the film has been both written and directed by Jaspal Singh Sandhu, with support from Luv Ranjan and Ankur Garg’s Luv Films.
After an impressive premiere screening at the 56th IFFI 2025, which received enthusiastic applause, "Vadh 2" is set for a theatrical release on February 6.
