Irrfan's Vision for an Acting School in Jaipur Revealed by Wife Sutapa

Jaipur, Jan 6 (NationPress) Irrfan Khan held a special place in his heart for his hometown Jaipur, nurturing a longstanding ambition of founding an acting school in the city.
Moreover, he envisioned engaging in agriculture and cultivating organic produce, as disclosed by his wife, Sutapa, during an exclusive discussion with IANS.
Sutapa mentioned that Irrfan possessed a mango farm in Maharashtra and aimed to establish similar orchards in various other regions.
Sutapa was present in Jaipur for the launch of the Irrfan Theatre Festival, taking place from January 6 to 8.
When reflecting on Irrfan’s character, Sutapa depicted him as a person who bore no grudges against others.
“He never spoke negatively about anyone he collaborated with,” she remarked.
“He also refrained from complaining about anything.”
Irrfan had a passion for reading and finished the 12 volumes of the Complete Works of Vivekananda, a gift from friends during his last days.
He was deeply inquisitive about his purpose in life and pondered whether he was achieving it.
Sutapa emphasized his spiritual side, sharing that Irrfan had a close relationship with Mahesh Bhatt, who introduced him to J. Krishnamurti, while other friends acquainted him with Osho. Irrfan believed that all spiritual seekers shared a common essence.
She also dismissed any claims of their lives being challenging.
“We never experienced struggle days. We commenced our journey with a bike, later upgrading to a Land Cruiser. Those bike rides were a blast! My office was situated in Lower Parel, Mumbai, and those rides were memorable. We cherished moments reading books and listening to poetry together,” she reminisced.
“Poverty is never a struggle; the challenge lies within the mind.”
Sutapa also recalled how Irrfan had a unique talent for storytelling that profoundly resonated with audiences.
He particularly found joy in the film 'Paan Singh Tomar', believing it conveyed a narrative that deserved to be told.
'Maqbool' was another film he held in high regard.
Irrfan Khan passed away in April 2020 following a two-year battle with a neuroendocrine tumor.
He is survived by his wife Sutapa and their two sons, Babil and Ayan.
Babil is gearing up for his acting debut in the Netflix original 'Qala' and is also set to collaborate on an upcoming film with Shoojit Sircar.
