Chennai, May 14 (NationPress) Actor Sasikumar, currently enjoying the success of his latest film 'Tourist Family', has made it clear that he will not be raising his salary. He emphasized that doing so would inevitably inflate a film's budget.
During the film's success event, directed by the talented Abishan Jeevinth, Sasikumar responded to inquiries from journalists regarding a potential salary increase following the film's superhit status.
“Absolutely not. I will keep my salary unchanged. I assure you of this. The reason for my decision is simple: increasing my salary will also raise the film's budget,” he stated.
“What truly brings me joy is experiencing such an incredible success after many years. You are all aware of how much this film earned on its opening day. Let’s discuss the facts,” he urged, encouraging actors and filmmakers to be transparent about their films' earnings.
“Only by being honest about the earnings will actors refrain from increasing their fees. This film grossed Rs 2.5 crores on its first day. There’s a film in my career whose total earnings were just that much. So, I have a film that made only Rs 2.5 crores, and this one has made several crores. Among all my films, 'Kutti Puli' and 'Sundarapandian' had the most impressive collections. This film's revenue has already surpassed both,” he added. “This victory is bound to inspire newcomers, instilling in them the determination to persevere. If this film's success offers hope to just five individuals, I will feel fulfilled.”
The film, which premiered simultaneously with two other major releases—Suriya's 'Retro' and Nani's 'Hit: The Third Case'—has achieved remarkable success, generating significantly more revenue than was initially invested.
'Tourist Family', which was released on May 1, is a delightful family film featuring Sasikumar and Simran in leading roles. The cast also includes Yogi Babu, Mithun Jayashankar, Kamalesh, M.S. Bhaskar, Ramesh Thilak, Bhagavathi Perumal (Bucks), Ilango Kumaravel, and Sreeja Ravi.
The film's cinematography is by Aravind Viswanathan, with music composed by Shaan Rahman, editing by Bharath Vikraman, and art direction by Rajkamal.
Produced by Million Dollar Studios and MRP Entertainment, the film is supported by producers Nasareth Baslian, Mahesh Raj Baslian, and Yuvaraj Ganesan.
