Los Angeles, May 12 (NationPress) Hollywood actress Scarlett Johansson had specific aspirations for her role in 'Jurassic World Rebirth'. She envisioned her character to be "a little bit sparkly".
The 40-year-old star takes the lead in this latest installment of the dinosaur franchise, expressing a desire for her covert operations expert, Zora Bennett, to exude a sense of "warmth" akin to what she has observed in others within similar roles, as reported by Female First UK.
Scarlett shared with Empire magazine, "I've met with many members of the armed forces and worked with the USO (United Services Organizations), and the people I've met who are at the highest level of security clearance all really share a certain kind of sense of humour, a warmth. So I wanted Zora to have that".
According to Female First UK, the 'Black Widow' star elaborated that her character is world-weary before the events of 'Jurassic World Rebirth', set for release in cinemas this July, focusing on a specialized team attempting to develop a life-saving drug.
Scarlett described Zora as "an operator", an ex-military individual working for independent contractors. "She's hired to do extractions. She's kind of burnt out when we find her. So when this opportunity comes along, it's very hard to pass up, because it means a chance for her to have a shot at another kind of life", she explained.
The actress has been a long-time admirer of the sci-fi action series and noted that a conversation with the original 'Jurassic Park' director, Steven Spielberg, solidified her belief that she was the perfect fit for a pivotal role in this new era of the franchise.
She reminisced, "It was a very long, wonderful meeting that we had to begrudgingly leave because we both have families. He really confirmed my huge fandom for the franchise and the opportunity (this film provided) for newness".
Scarlett relished the chance to collaborate with screenwriter David Koepp and director Gareth Edwards to develop her character into someone truly complex in this film, which also stars Mahershala Ali and Jonathan Bailey.
