Los Angeles, April 29 (NationPress) Actress Florence Pugh expressed that she “missed” Scarlett Johansson during the filming of 'Thunderbolts' and “hopes” she has made her former co-star “proud” in her prominent role, as her journey with Marvel started thanks to Johansson's trust.
The 29-year-old actress plays Yelena Belova in the latest Marvel film, a role that originated when Johansson invited her to join the 2021 film 'Black Widow'.
She stated in an interview with The Hollywood Reporter: “My entire journey with Marvel was initiated by Scarlett believing in me and wanting me to be part of her film ('Black Widow') six years ago. I constantly miss her presence, and it feels unfair to have begun this journey together only to not work alongside her again.”
“It’s surreal that ('Black Widow') was both my first and last experience in this universe with her. I genuinely hope she’s proud of our contributions. I often think, 'I hope she’s happy we joined.' So yes, I miss her a lot on set; we shared countless laughs.”
She elaborated on her record-setting stunt in the film, which involved a thrilling 2,000 ft drop from Malaysia's Merdeka 118 tower. Although she clarified that the stunt wasn’t her idea, she insisted on its inclusion when it was temporarily removed from the script, according to femalefirst.co.uk.
She remarked: “I must clarify that the idea to ascend there wasn’t mine; it was already scripted, and starting a film with a character falling from a building is quite a remarkable choice. I was genuinely astonished that they envisioned such an opening.”
“When it was removed, I became quite vocal about wanting it back. Of course, anything Tom Cruise accomplishes, both in stunts and acting, is utterly impressive. I'd be lying if I said I didn't want to emulate him for a moment.”
“I don't foresee myself flying machines or riding motorbikes, but this provided just the right amount of stunt work for me. It was certainly exhilarating to pretend to be Tom Cruise, even if just for a fleeting moment.”
