Los Angeles, March 23 (NationPress) Hollywood actress Amanda Seyfried has acknowledged that her 2009 film ‘Jennifer’s Body’ warranted superior marketing efforts.

Amanda Seyfried, who portrayed Needy Lesnicki in Karyn Kusama’s 2009 cult horror film alongside Megan Fox, reflected on the role, as reported by ‘Variety’.

In a recent interview with GQ, she stated, “I can’t critique this movie; to me, it’s perfect. It’s got balls. (Screenwriter) Diablo Cody was outspoken, beautiful, intelligent, and humorous.”

She further elaborated, “We were articulating a particular angst in a very distinct comedic manner within a specific genre. The special effects were remarkable; it had stunts, and it included everything you could desire.”

According to ‘Variety’, ‘Jennifer’s Body’ has since cultivated an audience as a subversive feminist cult classic. However, the film initially flopped, which Seyfried attributes to inadequate marketing. “If the critics have any criticism, it would be regarding the marketing,” she remarked. “The marketing was terrible; it truly was. And we all concur.”

“The marketing team diminished it as if it were merely a gory adventure. I believe they sabotaged it, and I think Karyn and Diablo formed an excellent partnership. I adore Needy. It was the first time I got to portray someone really nerdy, wearing glasses. Megan transformed into a demon, which was fantastic. We all had a blast, so I’d love to celebrate it by creating a sequel.”

While Needy narrowly escapes the events of ‘Jennifer’s Body’ and ends the film in a mental institution, Fox’s titular character dies at the climax, complicating the possibility of a sequel. Nevertheless, Amanda Seyfried remains optimistic about finding a way for Jennifer Check to make a comeback.
