Mumbai, Sep 21 (NationPress) Playback singer Shaan recently took the audience on a nostalgic journey with a special concert honoring the iconic Kishore Kumar. He believes that both studio recordings and live performances play significant roles in a singer's evolution.
In an interview with IANS at his office before the concert, he elaborated on the contrasts between live singing and studio work.
Shaan expressed, “Each has its unique allure. When creating a song, you're essentially performing it for the first time. Once the track is released with your voice, it's a monumental responsibility. You aim to deliver it in a manner that ensures its timelessness, so that it remains relevant for years to come. This presents a distinct challenge, accompanied by a different kind of enjoyment. Live singing, however, is about seizing the moment. You have just one opportunity; there’s no going back.”
He added, “Moreover, establishing a connection with the audience is crucial. For this concert, there was extensive planning involved. During a live performance, audience reactions guide our choices. Some elements may resonate well, and we amplify those, while others may not hit the mark, leading us to adjust accordingly. Maintaining that connection is vital, even for a fleeting moment. Everything is meticulously curated, from song sequencing to their emotional impact; it’s all planned down to the finest detail.”
The event, titled 'Forever Kishore Shaan Se', was organized by Namrata Gupta Khan and Rabbani Mustafa Khan of NR Talent and Event Management and took place on September 19 in the BKC area of Mumbai.
