New Delhi, July 15 (NationPress) Shabir Ahluwalia, who made his acting debut in 1999 with the show “Hip Hip Hurray”, quickly captured the hearts of television audiences through his roles in iconic series like Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi, Kahiin to Hoga, Kya Hadsaa Kya Haqeeqat, and Laagi Tujhse Lagan. Now, he admits to being highly selective about his projects.

In a conversation with IANS, Shabir expressed his desire to be part of productions where his character truly makes an impact. He stated, “If I don’t believe in a subject, how will I convince my audience, my viewers, my fans? I feel I owe them that — they’ve stuck by me for so many years.”

While choosing scripts, he acknowledges a certain “baggage” he carries. “I am liable to entertain my audience and I need to ensure they continue to stay with me. Acting for years means entertaining different generations, as each one shifts every few years. You must reach out to them in meaningful ways.”

For Shabir, it’s crucial to put forth his best effort in selecting the right projects.

“Understanding the power of saying no is significant. It can be daunting, and you might think, ‘Why did I decline this? How will it affect my future?’ But it’s about conviction, faith, and your fans. Trust your instincts; they are the most genuine guides.”

His latest venture is the romantic-comedy series “Ufff… Yeh Love Hai Mushkil”, a vibrant love story set amidst a chaotic household.

The narrative revolves around Kairi, a determined young woman raising her three siblings, who finds herself at odds with Yug Sinha, a cynical lawyer haunted by his past. What starts as a fierce rivalry, both at home and in court, evolves into an unexpected journey of love, recovery, and redefining family dynamics.
