Mumbai, Dec 29 (NationPress) Bollywood icon Shah Rukh Khan, who made his way back to Mumbai from Alibaug on Sunday with his family, has quickly left the bustling city to celebrate the arrival of the New Year.
The superstar was seen at Kalina airport accompanied by his wife Gauri and their younger son AbRam. Notably, SRK's beloved pet dog was also spotted joining the family on their journey to an undisclosed destination.
Just last month, the celebrated actor marked his 59th birthday on November 2. Having transitioned from a brief career in television to the silver screen, he seized the opportunities presented by India’s economic liberalization and effortlessly evolved from portraying darker roles to becoming the king of romance. SRK is undoubtedly regarded as the face of Indian cinema globally, holding numerous honorary doctorate degrees, a Padma Shri, and the French Legion of Honour.
He played a pivotal role in reviving the Hindi film industry from the commercial downturn caused by the Covid-19 pandemic. Nevertheless, his recent success streak, highlighted by hits like Pathaan and Jawan, faced a setback with the release of Dunki. This collaboration between one of the most successful filmmakers in contemporary Hindi cinema and a global superstar did not fare well at the box office.
The film encountered competition from Prabhas's Salaar: Part 1 – Ceasefire, released around the same time last year. The clash resulted in both films underperforming, unlike the recent box-office face-off between Ajay Devgn's Singham Again and Kartik Aaryan's Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3.
In other news, SRK and Gauri Khan's elder son Aryan Khan is set to make his directorial debut with a streaming series. This project is set against the backdrop of the Hindi film industry.
The multi-genre series promises an unapologetic exploration of cinema through the adventures of a charming, ambitious outsider navigating the streets of B-town. It combines a high-stakes narrative with a dose of self-aware humor.
