Mumbai, April 30 (NationPress) Music composer and singer Shankar Mahadevan shared insights about the musical coming-of-age series “Hai Junoon – Dream, Dare, Dominate”, which boasts an impressive collection of forty songs, declaring that it transcends a typical album to become an epic.
This album features an all-star musical cast including Sonu Nigam, Shankar Mahadevan, Sunidhi Chauhan, Vishal Dadlani, Shaan, Kanika Kapoor, Javed Ali, Aditya Ghadvi, Mohit Chauhan, Nakash Aziz, and Divya Kumar, along with Siddharth Mahadevan, delivering a vibrant mix of genres and emotions.
Shankar remarked in an exclusive interview with IANS: “Upon learning about the vision behind Hai Junoon, I was genuinely amazed. Forty songs, traversing various genres, moods, and characters — it’s not just an album, it’s an epic.”
He emphasized that in an era dominated by quick hits and short formats, this project dares to dream big.
“It unites some of the finest voices and composers in the nation, all collaborating on one cohesive musical narrative. For me, it felt like returning to the storytelling we used to cherish — where every note held significance, and every song advanced the plot. Hai Junoon is bold, brilliant, and historic in every sense,” Shankar added.
Singer Shaan highlighted what makes “Hai Junoon” distinctive.
“In today's landscape, where standalone singles and soundtracks rarely exceed three to four songs, ‘Hai Junoon’ stands out for its immense scale and spirit,” he told IANS.
“Forty songs — that’s nearly unheard of in modern music,” Shaan continued.
He noted that this album not only reestablishes music as central to storytelling but elevates it.
“There’s a track for every emotion, every plot twist, and each character’s inner world. It’s a nod to the grand musical traditions of Indian cinema, yet with a youthful, contemporary flair. I’m proud to be involved in such an expansive and ambitious project,” he added.
