Synopsis
Key Takeaways
Los Angeles, April 1 (NationPress) Actress Sharon Stone has expressed her reluctance to engage with intimate scenes in films.
The renowned star has revealed that she often "fast-forwards" through sexual content, aiming to preserve the "mystery" of such moments, as reported by ‘Female First UK’.
At 68, the iconic ‘Basic Instinct’ actress admitted that she finds "harsh sexuality" unsettling and avoids watching these scenes at home.
During a recent interview with CBS Mornings, she stated, "When sex scenes appear on TV, I fast-forward. I don’t wish to witness it".
She elaborated, "I dislike having to endure blatant, harsh sexuality. It diminishes my imagination. I prefer to nurture my yearning, mystery, and desire".
According to ‘Female First UK’, Sharon also recounted her experience filming one of her most provocative scenes in the 1992 thriller Basic Instinct, acknowledging that while it significantly altered her career path, it did so at a personal cost.
She reflected, "Oh my God, it transformed everything. I often feel I wasn't safeguarded or cared for. In many respects, I was penalized for the actions of others. I faced bizarrely inappropriate treatment; people viewed me in cruel and unkind ways, as if I were some sort of vulgar person ... after all, I portrayed a character three decades ago. It’s time to move on".
Sharon also shared her excitement about joining the cast of the show ‘Euphoria’, revealing her long-standing connection with creator Sam Levinson since he was a student, stemming from her collaboration with his director father, Barry Levinson, on the 1998 sci-fi film ‘Sphere’.
She expressed her enthusiasm for being part of season three, stating, "We had a wonderful time. All those young talents are exceptional. They have blossomed into major movie stars of their generation thanks to their incredible skill, kindness, and grace. It’s a delight to be involved".
Recently, Sharon hinted at a potential career shift, expressing her readiness to explore acting on Broadway, stating she now feels "prepared" to step into the realm of live theatre.
