Mumbai, Nov 15 (NationPress) Actress Shefali Shah has been garnering significant acclaim for the newly released season of ‘Delhi Crime’. She reminisced about a pivotal scene from the inaugural season where the cinematographer failed to roll the camera, resulting in the actors executing an extensive take without the scene being captured.
During a promotional interview with IANS for the third season of the International Emmy-winning series, she shared, “It was a 12-page scene in season one, where I came out and issued instructions to everyone. I felt overwhelmed that day, thinking, ‘I can’t do this, I have no idea what to do’. I approached Richie Mehta and suggested, ‘Please let everyone go home. Capture their reactions, and we’ll continue shooting through the night’. He replied, ‘No, everyone wants to support you.’ In the show, the scene is intercut with various shots of the bus stand, but during the shoot, he aimed to keep it continuous.”
She added, “So, we were performing in one continuous take, and the crew member forgot to roll the camera. We completed the entire scene and looked at him in disbelief, ‘Are you serious?’ However, if a moment needs to be redone, it must be done with equal fervor and commitment.”
In ‘Delhi Crime’, Shefali portrays Vartika Chaturvedi, a diligent police officer leading her team through intense investigations amidst significant public and political pressure. The series is noted for its authenticity, emotional resonance, and depiction of systemic issues within India's law enforcement. It has received global acclaim for its sensitivity and realism, winning the International Emmy Award for Best Drama Series, solidifying its status as one of the most impactful Indian shows on Netflix.
