Mumbai, Nov 8 (NationPress) Actress Shefali Shah, who is preparing for the 3rd season of her International Emmy-winning series ‘Delhi Crime’, has shared that she still experiences nerves before embarking on work for the new season.
The actress conversed with IANS in the BKC region of Mumbai as the release date for the 3rd season approaches. When inquired about how she reconnects with her character after more than a year since the last season, she remarked, “Regardless of whether it's ‘Delhi Crime’ season 3 or another film or series, that feeling of anxiety, that uncertainty of not knowing what to do when the director says action, is always present, and it doesn't change.”
She continued, “Initially, I read the script and start to envision my character's lines, like, ‘This is how Vartika will express this.’ A single line can be interpreted in numerous ways, and that's how the process unfolds. Gradually, I begin to immerse myself, engaging in discussions with Tanuja (the director of ‘Delhi Crime 3’) about the plot and brainstorming character development. Plus, donning the uniform adds a different dimension for me. Returning to my team feels like I never left, but I must admit I am incredibly tense and anxious every time I begin a new project.”
‘Delhi Crime’ features Shefali as Vartika Chaturvedi, a perceptive police officer who guides her team through challenging investigations amidst significant public and political scrutiny. The series is acclaimed for its authenticity, emotional depth, and depiction of systemic issues within India’s law enforcement. Celebrated globally for its sensitivity and realism, Delhi Crime clinched the International Emmy Award for Best Drama Series, solidifying its reputation as one of the most impactful Indian shows available on Netflix.
The 3rd season of the series is scheduled to premiere on Netflix on November 13.
