Mumbai, Oct 14 (NationPress) Bollywood star and television icon Shekhar Suman recently took a moment on his social media to express profound emotions as he reminisced about his late mother, who left this world in June 2022.

Suman posted a cherished photograph of himself gently kissing his mother’s forehead, both adorned with a tilak. His heartfelt message conveyed the immense love and longing he feels for her. In his touching note, he stated, 'My mother was a highly educated and intellectual woman. She held an MA in philosophy (hons), was reserved, and only spoke when prompted. Her kindness and compassion were boundless, as she cared for everyone in our family without showing favoritism, despite being the only son among three sisters.'

He continued, 'I must admit, the only person I ever feared was my mother, as she was a strict disciplinarian and adhered to strong principles.' Shekhar elaborated on his mother's health challenges, mentioning, 'She was a kidney transplant recipient who required constant care. After my father, a renowned surgeon and professor in Patna, passed away in 2010 due to Parkinson's disease, I wanted to bring her to Bombay. However, she was adamant that she did not want to be a burden to me. Eventually, when her health deteriorated, I brought her to live with me in 2015 against her wishes, as she was fiercely dignified and stubborn.'

Reflecting on their time together, Suman shared, 'Those were the most precious years of my life. I feel so fortunate that God allowed me to care for her. I reduced my work commitments to spend meaningful time with her, cooking and engaging in endless discussions about everything imaginable, which brought immense joy.'

'In our family, we didn't just love her; we revered her. She was a monumental figure, an ideal woman, and the most beautiful mother in the universe.' He also recounted the painful final days of his mother, stating, 'We lost her on June 17, 2022. Life has been forever changed since. I love you, Ma, and miss you. I pray that you return as my mother in every lifetime. Charan-sparsh.

For those unaware, Shekhar's grief is compounded by the earlier loss of his elder son, Ayush, in an accident—a void that he claims can never be filled. He is, however, grateful for his younger son, Adhyayan Suman, who is also pursuing a career in Bollywood. On the professional front, Shekhar was recently featured in Sanjay Leela Bhansali's Netflix series, 'Heeramandi: The Diamond Bazaar,' where he received significant acclaim for his role as Nawab Zulfiqar Ahmad.

Shekhar has appeared in films like Utsav, Anubhav, and Tridev, and is renowned as one of the trailblazing talk show hosts in Indian television history. His show, 'Dekh Bhai Dekh', followed by his talk show 'Movers and Shakers', made him a beloved figure during the 90s.
